Deejay Interview Question:
1) What
was the first opportunity that came along for you, to
remix and actually get into a studio and do a track?
also what was that first opportunity like?
That was
when we linked up witha guy called Surinder Rattan...he's
released 2 albums to date so far. We had a chance to
produce 1 track on the first album call THE LICK. It
was a major success and an instant hit....it launched
us in a big way.
2) What
are some of the hardest lessons you've had to learn
on your road to becoming a successful deejay?
Understanding and accepting HATE'rs...people
are out there to hate and be jelous....we learnt not
to take any notice of them and just bite our tounge
and get on with it.
3) When
did you really decide to take on this hobby/ profession
seriously despite the fierce competition and unpredictable
industry?
We've
always wanted to do this since we were 12....after getting
the chance to work on a album with Surinder...we new
that this is for us....we can take over.
4) What
keeps you motivated to do this stuff every weekend or
even every night? Is it the $ or something else?
Ha ha
ha....yeah it is the dollar's....MONEY MAKES THE WORLD
GO ROUND RIGHT!....but also for the love of music...we
love to experiment with different beats and produce
different styles to get the crowds going. Its the crowds
and the fans who keep us going.....oh and the money
too..he he.
5) How
many events have you performed in thus far? And what
type of impact did you have on the event?
I can't
start to list them because i'll be hear all day....well
we've performed in almost every major country in the
world...from USA to India to Honk Kong to Australia..to
the UK. Every crowd has been different in there own
way...but always exciting and full of energy....we love
the events...anywhere you go...you'l find DESI's.
6) What
sort of advise would you give a person trying to find
the perfect deejay for their big event?
Look
for a DJ who's going to versitle.....who looks at pleasing
the crowd with what tracks he plays...not what tracks
he like's to hear. Some DJ who is going to perform an
amazing show....with good stage presence and good music
selection depending on the crowds.
7) Your
advice to aspiring Deejays?
Keep
it up...keep collecting records...keep making your own
bedroom remix's and don't annoy your parents with the
load noise every day...he he....just work at it and
don't forget you CULTURE.
8) How
did you get involved with this talent?
Our dad
has always been into music...being the main RAGEE at
the local Gurduwara....he taught us how to play the
Harmonium and Tabla from the ages of 12/13....after
that...we was hooked.
